Hello, I'm Katy and welcome to Tarmac to Trailhead!

I love travelling and hiking, I've visited over 40 countries, and more than half of the US states. Although I've done many different types of trips, my favourite way to travel is road-tripping, particularly in the US! As a Brit, I'm often met with lots of questions about how I plan and book these kinds of trips, which is what inspired me to start this blog.

I'm a big lover of hiking, whether it be in popular national parks such as Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon, to the smaller state parks. For me, exploring and connecting with nature is the best way to see a country.

Despite it being a lifetime hobby of mine, I'm happy to admit that I'm certainly not perfect, but the purpose of this blog is to share my honest experiences, and even my mistakes, so we can learn from them.
